Patsy Carol Knight was called home to Jesus on February 10th, 2026. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her children and sister into the loving embrace of the Lord, at the age of 68. She was born on a warm, sunny morning, October 1st, 1957, to Jehue and Carol Johnson in Bay City, Texas.
Patsy attended both West Columbia and Sweeny, Texas in her formative years, and being a wild child at heart, would often recall in humorous pride the year the rules changed and she was finally allowed to wear pants to school instead of dresses. She was very shy, though highly intelligent, competitive and often found herself at the top of her class in track and field and in the classroom. She attended Brazosport Junior College in Lake Jackson, Texas. She worked many jobs over the years, being an executive secretary at Intermedics as well as a cook at countless cafes and diners across Alpena and Green Forest.
Patsy was a devoted Christian, sister, mother and grandmother. She loved reading her Bible, going to church and listening to the Word every chance she could. She loved her parents, following them to Arkansas to help run the dairy farm, and siblings with all her heart and cherished the firm and unyielding bond between them despite the distance between Texas and Arkansas. She adored her children and grandchildren, often outside playing with them and always there to lend an ear, or a shoulder to cry on, and fix broken toys.
Patsy spent the rest of her free time enjoying the art of crochet or reading a book. She made countless blankets, stuffed animals, doilies and more for her family and friends and found great comfort and peace in her hobbies. She could often be found in her favorite green chair, or on the porch if the weather was nice enough, crocheting while listening to a pastor on the radio or deep into an Agatha Christie, Dean Koontz, or Louis L’Amour novel.
Patsy received a warm welcome home, being preceded in death by her parents, Carol and Jehue, her husband Lynn, her daughter Rachel Knight Maybee; granddaughter Autumn; aunts, uncles and cousins rejoicing her arrival. She is survived by her 4 siblings; Greg and his wife Dawn Ann Johnson, Barbara Johnson, Joy and her husband Don Sluder, and Bryan Johnson; her son and his wife, Michael and Patty Knight, daughter Jamie Johnson; 9 grandchildren, Justin Jr, Jonathan, and Rebecca Maybee, Terry and Burgandy Knight, Bryce, Brent and Brandon Woltors and Stevie Holt; as well as many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.
